Half Marathon Perla del Tirreno

The Perla del Tirreno Half Marathon is a FIDAL-certified road race in Cefalù, located on Sicily’s Tyrrhenian coast. Organized by ASD Murialdo Cefalù and recognized by the Italian Federation of Athletics, it begins at 9:00 AM from Lungomare Giuseppe Giardina. The course utilizes an official 5,274.25-meter circuit, completed four times for the full 21.097 km distance. A shorter 10.50 km Trofeo SS. Salvatore is also part of the event, catering to both half marathon participants and those seeking a shorter road race. The half marathon also serves as a stage in Sicily’s regional Grand Prix, adding a competitive dimension beyond the local schedule. The route follows the coastline and finishes back on the Lungomare. It guides runners through Cefalù’s historic center, incorporating Piazza Cristoforo Colombo, via Matteotti, Corso Ruggero, and narrow old-town streets. A segment passes by Cefalù Cathedral, the city’s UNESCO World Heritage site. The field is predominantly Sicilian, with athletes from Palermo, Messina, and Agrigento, though participants also arrive from other Italian regions and several foreign countries. Club affiliation is high, with 99 teams represented alongside Run Card athletes. The age range is broad, covering younger adults and veteran runners into their eighties.
