Maracrona

About this race
Maracrona invites runners and walkers to complete a route in Greve in Chianti without monitoring their time, then compare their perceived duration with the actual time elapsed. Its first edition is scheduled for October, and the organizers refer to it as a “Sensory Olympics” instead of a conventional competition against others.
The fundamental task is straightforward: move, be mindful of your body, and aim to align your subjective sense of time with the clock's measurement as accurately as possible. The event connects physical activity with well-being and introspection. Its public advocates include Greve in Chianti mayor Paolo Sottani, two-time Sanremo winner Aleandro Baldi, Olympic 5000m champion Venuste Niyongabo, and Olympic shot put champion Alessandro Andrei.
