Maratona di Napoli 2026

The Maratona di Napoli begins and ends in Piazza del Plebiscito, Naples' main central square in Campania. This October road race features a marathon, a half marathon, a 12.4 km run, and untimed food walks of 5 or 7 km. The field is modest for a big-city marathon, with around 3,000 runners in the most recent edition, offering a more local and manageable atmosphere compared to larger European races. The course includes straight sections with minimal elevation changes, leading runners along the Lungomare and through the historic 3,000-year-old city. Key sights include Palazzo Reale, Castel dell'Ovo, Fontana del Sebeto, and views of Castel Nuovo with the Mediterranean Sea. The half marathon covers this route twice. Participants receive a medal in Piazza del Plebiscito, followed by Neapolitan pizza, a local tradition since the 18th century and recognized by UNESCO.
