About this race
The Semi-Marathon de Rome began with 17,124 participants at the start, setting a record for half marathon entries in Italy. This autumn road race in Rome features a 21 km half marathon as its primary event. Additionally, there is a non-competitive 5 km Longevity Run and the option to complete the half marathon as a three-person relay.
The course commences at Circo Massimo, crossing part of its route through the historic center and past UNESCO World Heritage sites and significant Roman landmarks. Participants pass by locations including Via dei Fori Imperiali, Porta Pia, the Trevi Fountain, Piazza del Popolo, the Pantheon, Piazza Navona, the Baths of Caracalla, the Colosseum, and the Roman Forum. Consequently, the field includes dedicated half marathoners, relay teams, and individuals opting for the shorter race as an accessible introduction to the event.
