About this race
The Stilfserjoch Stelvio Marathon takes runners from Prato allo Stelvio in Italy’s Val Venosta valley to the summit of the Stelvio Pass. This mountain trail race in Trentino-South Tyrol, typically held in late July, begins at 915 meters and concludes at 2,757 meters.
The course ascends toward Europe’s second highest mountain pass. It passes through the medieval town of Glurns and the mountain village of Stilfs before arriving at the Stilfserjoch area. Hundreds of participants compete, with a challenging 21 km trail option available. This event appeals to mountain runners seeking a demanding uphill race over a flat road course.
