Triathlon Olimpico Marconi

Triathlon Olimpico Marconi is an Olympic-distance triathlon held by the lake at Borgonuovo, near the Reno River in the Sasso Marconi area south of Bologna. The race follows the standard 1.5 km swim, 40 km bike, and 10 km run format, starting at 10 AM with over 300 athletes registered. Organized by the Porta Saragozza sports club, it serves as a trial for the Emilia Romagna Regional Championship and is part of the Tri Cup Emilia Romagna, a circuit linking the main regional races. The swim takes place in one loop within the Reno Vivo basin, a former quarry fed by the Rio D'Eva. The bike course is entirely closed to traffic, with participants riding three times along the former highway section up to the new Sasso Marconi toll booth. The run course stays alongside the swim lake, follows a wide traffic-free road, and then enters a roughly 3 km circuit that athletes complete three times.
