About this race
Trinacria Triathlon takes place by the sea in Sciacca, located on Sicily’s southwest coast within the Province of Agrigento. It is typically scheduled for late April. The event features a middle-distance race comprising a 1.9 km swim, a 90 km road bike course, and a 21.1 km run. An additional shorter M-distance option includes a 1.5 km swim, a 40 km bike ride, and a 10 km run. Relay teams are permitted, meaning the event is open to more than just individual triathletes.
The triathlon involves open-water swimming, road cycling, and road running, utilizing both the city and coastal areas as the backdrop. The Trinacria name is also associated with a Sicilian mountain biking event: the Trinacria Race MTB Marathon in Letojanni, organized by ASD Special Bikers Team. This marathon covers 62 km with 2,200 meters of elevation gain and attracts participants from mainland Italy across the Strait of Messina. The MTB event has seen over 200 online registrations, with significant involvement from the local club, Special Bikers.
