About this race
Trofeo Kima is a 52-kilometer skyrunning race on the Sentiero Roma in the Italian Alps, covering 8,400 meters of total elevation change. It takes place on the weekend before the last in August, with Saturday as the primary race day and Sunday reserved as a contingency for adverse weather. The race is part of the Merrell Skyrunner World Series, attracting mountain runners skilled on steep, technical terrain, distinct from standard trail races.
Securing a spot presents a significant challenge: a recent registration period received 2,000 applications for just 400 available entries, which were all claimed within two hours. Participants represented 27 nations, with women comprising 19.5% of the field. Organizers advise potential runners to prepare for registration with a reliable internet connection, as obtaining a bib is the initial obstacle before tackling the Sentiero Roma.
