About this race
Vivinatura Trail is a 23 km mountain and forest trail race in Castelbuono, near Palermo, in the heart of Sicily. It runs in early November inside Parco delle Madonie, with a single race distance and a tough profile: the current course listing gives about 2,200 m of climbing, while an earlier edition listed 1,660 m. It is part of the UTMB Index, so it also counts for runners who track trail performances through that system.
The route uses wild trails through the green Madonie mountains, with varied ground rather than a road-race feel. The event is organized by ASD ECOTRAIL SICILIA and draws trail runners looking for a hard, compact mountain test rather than a long menu of race options. A past results list shows just over 100 finishers, which suggests a focused local field where club runners and serious mountain runners share the same steep 23 km challenge.
