About this race
The Yodogawa Sunset Marathon is an evening running event held at the Yodogawa Riverbed Park’s Nishinakajima Area Baseball Field in Osaka. Races commence at 5:00 PM, following a brief check-in period and opening ceremony, aligning with the event's sunset theme. Participants can select from 20 km, 10 km, or 5 km distances, with all runners required to be 18 years or older. Field sizes are limited: the 20 km race has a maximum of 150 participants, while the 10 km and 5 km races each have a cap of 100.
The course consists of a straightforward 2.5 km loop. Consequently, 20 km runners will complete 8 laps, 10 km runners will complete 4 laps, and 5 km runners will complete 2 laps. Time limits are set at 2 hours 30 minutes for the 20 km, 1 hour 30 minutes for the 10 km, and 50 minutes for the 5 km. Two aid stations are positioned along the course, supplemented by a self-serve water station in the main area. Timing is managed via an IC tag attached to the race bib. Finishers are eligible to receive same-day completion certificates, and the top three male and female runners in each distance category will be presented with awards.
