About this race
The Seasonal Arakawa Half Marathon is a low-cost race series held at Horikiri Water Park, near Horikiri-Shobuen in Tokyo. The park serves as both the start and finish location. Races are held multiple times annually, with editions in early summer and autumn. Participants can choose between a half marathon, a 10 km, or a 5 km distance.
The half marathon begins at 10:00, and the 10 km and 5 km races commence ten minutes later. This event is designed for practical race training. Each runner is equipped with a timing tag, and the official results website promptly publishes finish times, lap times, and category and overall rankings. Pacers are available for a range of speeds, from 4:00 per kilometer to 6:00 per kilometer, in 10-second increments, making the race suitable for runners aiming for a specific pace. To maintain low entry fees, organizers forgo certain amenities like baggage check and additional portable toilets. However, they do provide guest cheering, online completion certificates, a discount coupon for a support event, and a one-month online yoga benefit for recovery or training.
