Blefjells Beste begins and concludes at Bestebu, a private cabin located at Klengstol along Store-Bleveien on Blefjell in Flesberg, Norway. This July trail and mountain race series takes place on varied terrain, offering distances from 5 km and 10 km to a half marathon, 57 km, and a 93 km option. Langt og lenge organizes the event, designed as a relaxed, communal day for individuals who enjoy running or training in forest and mountain environments.
The courses are sufficiently steep to provide a genuine mountain running feel, even for shorter distances. Smatroll-loypa is 5 km with approximately 110 meters of elevation gain. Smatusse-loypa covers 10 km with about 340 meters. Tusse-loypa, the 21 km route, features roughly 735 to 750 meters of climbing, while Troll-loypa extends to 57 km with around 2000 meters of gain. The name Blefjells Beste reflects the course concept: runners traverse several prime locations on Store-Ble, deviating from a typical circuit around a flat venue. The half marathon has seen over 170 finishers, predominantly Norwegian participants alongside some international competitors.
