Hanatrappene Opp is a short uphill stair race in Hana, Sandnes, held in October at noon. The task is straightforward and demanding: ascend 306 steps up what is possibly Northern Europe's longest natural staircase, with individual starts and timing. Sandnes Idrettslag and Hana IL organize the event, and Sandnesposten broadcasts it live.
The stairs connect the old Hana school with the sports facility and remain a school route. Completed in the mid-1950s, they are frequently used for training, making the race centered on a local landmark instead of a closed road course. Hana IL operates a kiosk at the summit, prizes are awarded at the finish, and current course records are displayed as a benchmark.
