Cyclocross Series - Race Two 2026

Cyclocross Series - Race Two is a Nelson mountain bike club cyclocross race featuring short, hard laps on varied terrain, with the senior CX race lasting 45 minutes. Competitors continue laps until the time expires; the rider completing the most laps wins. The event also offers a children's race for under-10s on shorter, simpler laps, and a 35-minute Short Track XC race open to any bicycle type, held before the drop-bar-only cyclocross race begins. The course may incorporate trails, roads, paddocks, fences, trees, horse jumps, steps, and any obstacles the organizer includes, requiring riders to navigate their bikes through or over each. The series aims to attract new participants to cyclocross, fostering a welcoming rather than daunting atmosphere. The Nelson CX scene often features costume participation, children's racing is included, and senior competitors receive a Belgian biscuit upon returning their number plate post-race.
