Hanmer Springs Backyard Ultra 2026

Hanmer Springs Forest Camp hosts the Hanmer Springs Backyard Ultra, a winter ultramarathon based on the straightforward “last one standing” format. The event involves repeated laps of a set loop, hour after hour, until only one finisher remains. All other participants will receive a DNF. The lap route follows commercial pine forest trails, walking and mountain biking tracks, with brief gravel road sections and minor climbs.
