Puketapu Night Run

Puketapu School hosts an evening trail running event that uses the Hawke's Bay Trails near Puketapu. The 2026 Puketapu Night Run returns to the "full Puketapu Loop". Individual runs, relay legs, and a fun run give it a head-torch-and-trail-shoes character distinct from a standard road race. The longer loop starts and finishes at the school for runners completing a "longer night trail challenge". The point-to-point options connect Springfield Road, Lennox Park, and Puketapu School. The course direction is reversed from previous years, a detail notable for returning participants. The field includes trail runners, social teams, walkers, and those seeking a "different running experience after dark".
