About this race
5150 Gdynia is an Olympic-distance triathlon in Gdynia, a Polish seaport on the south coast of the Baltic Sea. Athletes start with a swim in Gdańsk Bay, then ride a rolling bike course and finish with a rolling run. Typical conditions are mild for summer racing, with air around 70 °F / 21 °C at the warmer end and bay water averaging about 66 °F / 19 °C.
The bike leg heads through the Kashubia region, so the race moves quickly from the waterfront into the countryside north of the city. The run brings athletes back onto Gdynia’s sea boulevards and busy central streets, with the city setting giving the finish a louder feel than a quiet resort race.
