Backyard Ultra Wiewióra Olecko begins at the Szyjka city beach in Olecko, next to Lake Oleckie Wielkie in Masuria. It follows the standard backyard ultra format: participants complete a 6.706 km circuit each hour, continuing until only one runner can begin and finish a final lap. Though in its second year, organizers already consider it one of Poland's more challenging backyard venues. A marathon distance is offered for those who prefer the location and loop structure without the endurance challenge of the final-runner-standing format.
The circuit crosses park, forest, dirt, and gravel trails surrounding Lake Oleckie Wielkie, with approximately 3.3 km along the water on the south side. Each lap includes 62 meters of elevation gain, meaning the climbing accumulates significantly over many hours. The initial kilometers are on softer terrain, and the forest sections provide welcome shade during warm weather. The race hub is located by the beach, offering a buffet, medals, prizes, monetary awards, and special acknowledgment for participants from the Olecko region. In a past event, the overall victor covered 234.710 km, and the leading female runner completed 120.708 km.
