About this race
Challenge Poland Gdańsk Triathlon concludes at the Gdańsk Pier, with the finisher area located on the beach. The event takes place in Gdańsk, Poland, during June. Its primary middle-distance race is a half-Iron distance triathlon, featuring a 1.9 km swim, a 90 km bike ride, and a 21.1 km run. The weekend also offers shorter distances, including a sprint triathlon with a 750 m swim, 20 km bike, and 5 km run. Additionally, there is a 5 km women's run and junior races with swims up to 400 m and runs ranging from 100 m to 2000 m.
The course is designed for speed rather than difficulty. The middle-distance bike and run segments each have only 8 m of elevation gain. The bike leg is advertised as one of the quickest middle-distance routes globally. The run follows the beach and passes through a woodland park, providing athletes with a flat coastal route that avoids prolonged exposure on open roads. Typical race conditions are mild, with average temperatures around 20°C for air, 17°C for water, and winds of 15 kph. Professional athletes compete here, with PTO ranking points, Silver tier status, and a 25,000 EUR prize fund available. The Tri Together option allows participants to complete the middle or sprint distances as a team.
