About this race
Jaworzno Triathlon Stalowy Sokół is a short off-road triathlon held at Sosina Reservoir in Jaworzno, Silesia, southern Poland, with recent editions scheduled for late summer. The format is accessible: a 400-meter swim, a 10-kilometer bike leg, and a 3-kilometer cross-country run. The Municipal Cultural and Sports Center of Jaworzno organizes the event, aiming to increase triathlon participation in southern Poland, promote Jaworzno, and offer local residents an additional summer sports event.
The swim begins from the reservoir shore, with water temperatures typically around 22 degrees C. The bike course utilizes gravel and forest roads, permitting MTB, cross, and trekking bikes with wheels up to 29 inches; a helmet is required. The run is a brief cross-country segment, not a road finish. Race logistics are straightforward: the event office is located near the reservoir's tent field, participants store bikes in designated areas before the start, bikes undergo a technical inspection, and electronic timing captures the results.
