The Opole running event begins at the Voivodeship Office and concludes at the Opole Amphitheatre car park, positioning participants between two significant local landmarks. The event takes place in Opole, a Polish city recognized as the Song Capital of Poland, offering various participation options: a marathon, a half marathon, a 10 km race, a company relay, and a short children's mini-marathon.
The full marathon spans 42.195 km, consisting of four circuits slightly exceeding 10.5 km each. The relay divides the distance into four legs of 5.274 km, and the children's race covers 421 metres. The course crosses the Piast Bridge over the Oder River, passes Opole Cathedral, runs alongside the Market Square, and goes by the Main Railway Station before reaching the amphitheatre finish line. The inaugural Opole Marathon was held in 2011, and recent events attract close to 1,500 participants, including children, novice runners, company teams, and seasoned athletes.
