About this race
The Bałtyk 600 is a 600-kilometer cycling ultramarathon along Poland’s Baltic coast, organized by Polish Bike Tour. It follows the R10 coastal route, offering a long point-to-point challenge without requiring travel into the mountains or across Europe. The event attracts participants with diverse goals: some aim for podium finishes or personal bests, while others seek to determine if they can complete the full distance by the sea.
The route is particularly suited to gravel riders because of its varied terrain, scenery, and surface transitions, rather than relying solely on asphalt. For some participants, this is their first ultra-endurance event, representing a significant step up; one rider, whose previous longest ride was approximately 400 kilometers, approached the additional distance as a test of resilience. Strategies range from riding continuously without sleep to completing the distance over two days with an overnight break, though the race often modifies these intentions as fatigue, weather, and the coastal environment exert their influence.
