About this race
Twierdza Triathlon Kedzierzyn-Koźle is a multisport race series in Kędzierzyn-Koźle, Poland, offering short-course triathlon options instead of full Ironman distances. The primary events are a 1/4 Ironman (950 m swim, 45 km bike, 10.55 km run) and a 1/8 Ironman (475 m swim, 22.5 km bike, 5.275 km run). A 1/4 Ironman relay is also available, allowing three-person teams to divide the swim, bike, and run segments.
The swim takes place in the Oder River, beginning from a platform at Przystań Szkwał, with buoys marking the course through a calm current. The bike course crosses the streets of Koźle, featuring laps in the city center for close spectator viewing. The run route winds through a historic park and along old ramparts, with a mix of asphalt and gravel surfaces. The "Twierdza" designation refers to the fortress surroundings, and the event is framed as both a sports competition and a revival of local triathlon history.
