About this race
The V Nocny Bieg Niepodległości is a night street race held in Pępowo, a town in western Poland's Wielkopolskie region. Adult participants can select either a 5 km or 10 km distance. Both races commence simultaneously in the evening, following the conclusion of the children's races which open the event. The start and finish lines are located on ul. Edmunda Bojanowskiego, adjacent to the OSP Pępowo fire station.
The event follows a straightforward local format: children first compete over distances ranging from 200 to 800 meters, after which adult runners begin after dark. It is connected to the period surrounding Poland's Independence Day. The organizers prioritize a family atmosphere over a large-scale urban event. Spectators line sections of the course, offering runners encouragement on the street, despite the race's modest, local scale.
