Bieg Tygrysa Duża Beczka stands as the most challenging category within Bieg Tygrysa, a cross-country obstacle race held in Orzysz, Poland. The event's hub, including the start and finish lines, is situated at the Municipal Stadium, Leśna 72. This race is coordinated by the Municipal Sports and Recreation Center of Orzysz, with support from military units, forest districts, and local services. Duża Beczka is a 30 km individual competition for those aged 16 and older, featuring 80 obstacles, a requirement to carry extra weight, and mandatory military attire.
The course navigates the rugged terrain surrounding Orzysz, eschewing paved paths for a route that includes ditches, water crossings, dense undergrowth, marshes, inclines, walls, ropes, railings, and other constructed challenges. Electronic timing is employed, with checkpoints along the course; failure to pass a checkpoint results in disqualification. Bieg Tygrysa also provides shorter race options, ranging from a non-competitive 2 km to 12 km and 20 km races, but Duża Beczka represents the definitive military-style trial. Participants who complete the race receive a commemorative medal. Some categories include starting packages with a shirt and accessories, and top competitors are awarded material prizes.
