Recurring 10K races near Cieszyn
Races that repeat — weekly, monthly or yearly
Heimstaden Havířovská desítka
Heimstaden Havířovská desítka is a 10 km road race in Havířov, offering shorter or related race options alongside the main ten. The event takes place in the city center, using Republiky Square for both the start and finish. It also supports a charity cause, making race day about more than just times and placings.
Approximately 1,200 runners are registered across the various distances, marking the largest field the event has hosted. The relay category is particularly popular, with 60 teams participating. The course winds through central Havířov. This anniversary edition is also attracting well-known Czech athletes, such as Pavel Maslák, a three-time world indoor champion. Maslák mentioned that his first 10 km race was at Havířovská desítka and he wished to compete in the distance there again.
WARTKO... bez Gaszowice
Wartko bez Gaszowice is an October sports and recreation event in the Gaszowice municipality, beginning at 10:00 AM. The main competition is a 10 km street run. Additionally, there is a 6 km “Wartko z patykami” event for Nordic walkers and “Wartki Bajtel” races for children.
The event offers adults the option to run or walk, and children participate in their own shorter races. This event is part of the “Wartko!” series. An early edition attracted nearly 200 participants under favorable weather conditions, featuring separate registration and rules for the 10 km run and the 6 km walking event.
Ludgeřovický kros
Ludgeřovický kros takes place in Ludgeřovice, featuring a route primarily on forest and field paths, with less emphasis on roads. Participants can choose from a 10 km run, a 4 km run, or a 9 km Nordic walking event. Additionally, children can compete in races of 100 and 500 meters. This race is an annual event and is included in the Prajzsko-opavská running league.
The 10 km course involves approximately 140 meters of elevation gain and crosses mixed terrain, passing through the Černý les area and notable local sites. The event is subtitled “Run of War Veterans,” connecting it to Ludgeřovice’s War Veterans Day activities, and is held with the patronage of the President of the Czech Republic. The participant limit is 400, and the prior edition reached full capacity. All finishers receive a custom metal medal along with a traditional Czech reward: smoked sausage or grilled hermelin.
Gorski Bieg Niepodleglosci
Górski Bieg Niepodległości is a mountain running event in Bielsko-Biała, Poland, held on Poland’s Independence Day. Runners can choose an 11 km race or a half marathon, suiting those seeking a shorter hard trail effort and those wanting a longer mountain run.
The routes traverse mountain terrain in the Beskids, featuring varied footing and technical sections that distinguish it from a simple road race. The 11 km option remains demanding, offering natural Beskid views, and the event also directs runners toward structured training plans for the distance.
Piekło Czantorii
Piekło Czantorii is a trail race series held in mid-November in Ustroń, located in Poland’s Silesia Voivodeship. Runners navigate a forest and mountain environment with race distances ranging from 10 km to 94 km. The shortest 10 km race features 1,159 m of elevation gain, and the 94 km option has 7,900 m of climbing. The 24 km, 47 km, and 71 km races also involve significant elevation gains, marking this as a mountain trail event, not a simple woodland run.
The series is included in the UTMB Index races. ITRA rates it at Mountain Level 9 and Finisher Level 350. One specific race, slightly over 48 km, includes 4,095 m of ascent, a 12 hour 30 minute time limit, 3 aid stations, and is capped at 250 participants. The race names reflect local character, with options such as Bestyjka, Bestyja, Pieron, Przepieron, and Lucyfer. One source also refers to the event as “La Terre des Champs.”
Rybnicki Bieg Barborkowy
Rybnicki Bieg Barbórkowy is a traditional 10 km street race in Rybnik, Poland, held in December as part of local Barbórka festivities. The start and finish are at the Municipal Stadium, providing runners a clear stadium base before they proceed onto city streets. MOSiR Rybnik organizes the event, which also concludes the local running season.
The route crosses the center of Rybnik, offering a city-course character distinct from park or trail runs. It features one primary 10 km distance with professional timing for results. The Barbórka connection provides a local identity linked to the mining holiday, distinguishing it from other end-of-season road races.
XIX Grand Prix Tychow w Biegach Dlugodystansowych 2026
The Grand Prix of Tychy in Long-Distance Running is a local race series held at KS Paprocany on Sikorskiego Street in Tychy. This is the 19th edition, offering a 5 km or 10 km distance at each event. Registration is available on race day in the morning before the 10:00 start, and the race is open to all.
The course runs around Paprocany, with registration and the start located at the KS Paprocany sports complex. MOSiR Tychy, along with the Association for the Promotion of Athletics in Tychy, organizes the series. Participants can register for a single race or the entire six-race series. The schedule allows for adjustments due to winter weather, with the possibility of cancellation if icy conditions make the route unsafe.
Silvestrovský běh Karviná
Silvestrovský běh Karviná is a New Year’s Eve 10 km road race held in Karviná, Moravian-Silesian region, Czech Republic. The main race begins in the morning on asphalt roads bordering the city. With approximately 100 meters of elevation gain, it offers a challenging town road race rather than a simple flat run. TJ Jäkl Karviná is the organizer, and the event also features free children’s races within the local forest park.
The day caters to both club runners and local families. Registered participants join via their clubs, while parents can sign up unregistered children. The children’s races cover shorter distances in the forest park: 200 m, 350 m, 900 m, or 1.8 km, based on age category. The 10 km race is included in the MSBP and BPKR running cups. Its established history is evident, with editions already reaching the forties. Post-race refreshments and awards for top finishers mark it as a local end-of-year racing tradition, distinct from a typical winter 10K.
