Blodomloppet Kalmar 2026

Blodomloppet Kalmar takes place at Bergaviks IP in Kalmar, with number pickup at Bergaviks Idrottsplats. The event includes timed 5 km and 10 km races, a 5 km walk, and a 1 km Lilla Blodomloppet for children up to 12 years old. It is part of Sweden’s Blodomloppet series, held in 23 locations, which uses running and walking to encourage blood donation. The event is suitable for those seeking a timed race, those who prefer to walk, and groups from workplaces, families, or friends. The structure is straightforward: adults select either 5 or 10 km, walkers have a dedicated 5 km option, and the youngest participants compete in a short race. All participants receive a medal. Teams of five are awarded a picnic bag post-race, contributing to a group outing atmosphere rather than a typical road race. Blood centers in Region Kalmar län organize the Kalmar event. Its inaugural edition attracted approximately 700 participants and facilitated the recruitment of about 20 new blood donors. A Specialomloppet is also provided, extending the programme's inclusivity beyond the standard run-and-walk format.
