Söder Runt is a 10 km evening road race in Stockholm, starting and finishing by Tantolunden on Södermalm. The race sends runners for one full lap of the island, with the route following the water almost the entire way. It is control-measured, very flat, and designed for quick running, with no significant uphill sections to disrupt pace. Approximately half the participants achieve a personal best there each year, indicating the course's suitability for fast times.
The route is straightforward: run around Södermalm once, stay near the waterfront, and return to Tantolunden. The field includes club runners, first-timers aiming for a fast 10 km, and returning elites, such as David Nilsson, a four-time winner. Following the finish, the event becomes social, featuring an After Run party with food, drinks, music, and the race’s established pizza-and-beer tradition for participants.
