Recurring Half Marathon races near Madrid

Races that repeat — weekly, monthly or yearly

Medio Maratón San Sebastián Rural Kutxa
SUN OCT 4
The Medio Maratón San Sebastián Rural Kutxa, a half marathon in San Sebastián, saw nearly 4,000 runners participate in its fourth edition. The race took place in the rain, with Artur Bossy and Irene Pelayo securing the victories. Bossy claimed his first txapela, the Basque winner’s beret, following a men’s race that remained controlled for an extended period before accelerating sharply near the end. The decisive action occurred around Anoeta stadium, close to the fifteen-kilometer mark, when Iraitz Arrospide increased the tempo, with only Bossy and Unai Arroyo able to keep pace. Arrospide attempted to break away from Bossy, but the conclusion was decided by a sprint, Bossy finishing one second ahead in 1:06:21, and Arroyo taking third place in 1:06:50. The women’s race had anticipated a contest between Pelayo and Elena Loyo, but Pelayo ran much of the event solo, winning in 1:13:50.
Media Maratón Rural Villanueva de la Torre
SUN OCT 25
The Media Maratón Rural Villanueva de la Torre is a new rural half marathon held in Villanueva de la Torre, located in Spain's Guadalajara province. It is scheduled for autumn and covers the standard 21.097-kilometer distance. The town council is organizing the event in collaboration with the Runnink platform. The route combines streets within the municipality with agricultural tracks, offering runners a mix of village sections and open farmland instead of a purely road-based course. A portion of the route passes through a ZEPA (Special Protection Area for birds), providing a natural setting where participants might observe farmland, birds, and other wildlife. This inaugural edition also aligns with the municipality's initiative to achieve European Town of Sport status.
Carrera Tecnocasa Vuela
SUN NOV 29
Carrera Tecnocasa Vuela is a Madrid running event held in Valdebebas, within the Hortaleza district. The race hub is located on Avenida de las Fuerzas Armadas. This road race takes place in late November and offers three distances: 5K, 10K, and a half marathon, catering to beginners, regular club runners, and those seeking a longer challenge. The race supports a specific cause: it is run to oppose gender violence and is scheduled near the UN's International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women. With a history spanning at least ten editions, it holds more significance than a single charity run. While specific course details are scarce, the location suggests a modern Madrid neighborhood rather than a route through central tourist sites.
EDP Semi-marathon Madrid (Course pour femmes)
TUE DEC 8
The EDP Women's Half Marathon Madrid is a road race held in Madrid, Spain, in early December. Participants can select the half marathon distance of 21.0975 km or a shorter 6 km race, accommodating both those prepared for a full city half marathon and runners seeking a more accessible distance. Both races follow single-loop road courses within the Spanish capital and are listed under the Community of Madrid. The 6 km option is noted as the most popular race, with the half marathon also identified as the Medio Maraton 21 km.

About Half Marathon races in Madrid

Madrid Training Notes

Madrid hosts 6 Half Marathon races in 2026 within 80 km of the city centre — upcoming dates, recurring series, and other races nearby, all in one place.

Locals run the daily stuff in Madrid Rio, Casa de Campo, El Retiro, Parque del Oeste, and Paseo de la Castellana. Madrid Rio gives nearly 10 km of paths along the Manzanares River. El Retiro has a loop around the whole park, and it is easy to get in a 6-8 km run without seeing the same thing twice. El Retiro has a 2 km running track. Don’t Die Madrid Running Club meets every Sunday. Madrid Runners meet Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Sundays. We Run Madrid meets Wednesdays and Saturdays. Parkrun Retiro anchors Saturday with a timed 5K at 9:00 AM. Anchor races include Madrid Marathon, San Silvestre Vallecana, Carrera de la Mujer, Rock 'n' Roll Madrid races, and Vuelta a la Casa de Campo.

Locals ride base miles on the Green Cycle Belt, Casa de Campo, and the Carril bici de Colmenar. Casa de Campo sits on the west bank of the River Manzanares and covers more than 1,700 hectares. The Carril bici de Colmenar takes riders out of Madrid toward the Guadarrama mountain range. Madrid Sierra Cycling Group runs morning weekend rides in the Sierra, with Navacerrada, Rascafria, and Miraflores in the mix. The climbs sit around Puerto de Navacerrada, Morcuera, Canencia, and the Sierra de Madrid. The Miraflores loop climbs Morcuera, drops to Rascafría, cuts toward Lozoya, climbs Canencia, and returns to Miraflores at about 80 km. Anchor events include Bh Madrid-Segovia, La Vuelta ciclista a España, and Circuito MTB 7 Estrellas - Madrid, Ruta de las Encinas - 25km.

April to June and September to October suit both runners and riders in central Spain. Madrid sits at 650 m, so easy Z2 can feel crisp even when the sun is out. Summer gives hot, dry days, and July and August are the months locals try to avoid for bigger rides and long runs. Locals shift intervals, base miles, and steady spins to the early morning or the last few hours of sunlight. Winter brings cool air from December to February, with frequent frosts, sporadic snowfalls, and cold mornings. Winter temps top out around 8°C, so gloves matter for both sports.
