Warrington hosts 85 Half Marathon races in 2026 within 80 km of the city centre — upcoming dates, recurring series, and other races nearby, all in one place.

Locals run Warrington as a park-and-canal town, with easy loops through Sankey Valley Park, Victoria Park, Paddington Meadows Nature Reserve, Lymm Dam, and Moore Nature Reserve. Warrington Running Club meets at 6:30pm every Monday and Thursday at The Seven Woods Pub on Westbrook. WRC keeps it useful with intervals, cross country, hill training, strength and conditioning, and that muster style where faster runners head back. The Warrington Way 40 starts and finishes in Lymm and runs 40 miles around town. The Fireworks 5km and Wind in the Pillows Marathons & Half marathon give locals proper anchor events.

Warrington rides well because the place is quite flat and compact. Locals use over 100 miles of cycling routes for Z2, base miles, and quick spins after work. You can ride 5 miles from Sankey Valley Car Park through cycle paths and parks, then over the River Mersey and beside the Manchester Ship Canal. North Cheshire Clarion, Warrington Road club, Wheels for all, Warrington cycle hub, and Ride Warrington keep the scene moving. Warrington Road Club runs Sunday and Wednesday club runs, summer and winter chain gangs, four open time trials, and one open road race each season. The climbs stay low-key here.

March to September feels like the sweet spot, because the Summer Challenge runs from 1st March to 30th September. Locals use summer for longer park loops, steady canal miles, chain gangs, and easy evenings on the Trans Pennine Trail. Moore Nature Reserve gives the One Moore Time route 8K of meadows, woodland, lakes, and ponds, and Lymm Dam gives the Dam Fine View route 7K from a cracking start point. Winter changes the kit more than the attitude. WRC runners wear a head or chest torch, and Warrington Road Club keeps the chain gangs going through summer and winter.
