About 10K races in Fort Wayne

Fort Wayne Training Notes

Fort Wayne hosts 9 10K races in 2026 within 80 km of the city centre — upcoming dates, recurring series, and other races nearby, all in one place.

Locals build base miles on the Rivergreenway, Towpath Trail, and loops through Foster Park, Fox Island, and Promenade Park. Foster Park gives you paved and wooded trails attached to the Rivergreenway. Fox Island packs 7 miles of marked trails through a marsh, beach, forests, and fields. The Rivergreenway runs 5 miles and stays flat, paved, easy, and clean. Fort Wayne Track Club, Fort Wayne Running Club, Three Rivers Running Company, and Fleet Feet keep the calendar moving. m. The Big Run 5K, Run Wild 5K, Turkey Trot 5K, and Fantasy of Lights 5K feel like anchor races.

Locals ride the Rivergreenway, Towpath Trail, Aboite Trails, Pufferbelly Trail, Salomon Farm Loop, and Franke Park Trails. The Rivergreenway runs 25 miles alongside the St. Joseph, St. Marys, and Maumee Rivers and connects 15 city parks. The Towpath Trail links the Rivergreenway with the Aboite Trail, and Aboite gives southwest riders 18 miles of trail access. Three Rivers Velo Sport owns the group-ride scene, with meetings on the first Thursday at 7:00 pm at Allen County Public Library. The Monday Covington B Ride covers 26-32 miles at 18-19 mph. The west and southwest side hold the hilly course work, while Franke Park gives mountain bikers 10 miles of singletrack. Fort4Fitness Spring Cycle is the anchor event.

Spring, summer, and fall are the best months because locals can stack Z2, intervals, trail miles, and weeknight rides without overthinking gear. Summers feel hot, humid, and wet, so Trek the Trails starts at 6:00 pm every other Tuesday, averages 8-9 miles, and gets canceled if the National Weather Service issues a Heat Advisory. Fort Wayne’s parks make summer training simple, with 86 public parks and 3,000 acres in the system. Winter changes the rhythm for both sports. Winters stay cold with moderate snowfall, and the city averages 30 inches of snow per year. Lake-effect snow usually shows up as light flurries, so runners keep the streak alive and riders move to shorter routes or indoor work.
