The Morgantown Running 5k Turkey Trot takes place on Thanksgiving morning in Morgantown, West Virginia. The kids’ 800m fun run begins first, followed by the 5k at 9:00 a.m. The main race starts on the blue track near the WVU Coliseum. Runners and walkers cover the same 5k distance, with registered walkers expected to complete the entire course on foot. Children under 12 have the option to enter the 5k or participate in the shorter Turkey Fun Run, a two-lap event on the blue track divided into heats for different age groups. The 5k route departs the track after nearly a full lap, descending Mon Boulevard before turning onto Boyers Avenue and Leeway Street. It then merges with the rail trail for approximately the last two miles, concluding behind the Seneca Center at Morgantown Running.
