Harrisonburg locals run the greenways when they want clean base miles without overthinking it. Purcell Park puts you on the Bluestone Greenway, and the Northend Greenway links into that flatter city rhythm. The Friendly City Trail spans two miles and connects Hillandale and Westover Parks. The trail runs 01 km and gains 50 m. Run Harrisonburg keeps the younger crowd moving through its JMU-led program. The Harrisonburg Half Marathon is the anchor race, and Valley 4th RUN, Rocktown Turkey Trot, Jmu 9/11 5K, and Rockingham Park 5K fill the calendar.

Reddish Knobb, Sounding Knob, Flagpole Knob, Afton & Wintergreen, and East Side of Massanutten bring the climbing.
