Sioux Falls running centers on the Missouri River valley floor and Parks system — Turkey Trails and 605 Trail Fest both use the flat, paved loops around Falls Park and the Big Sioux River corridor, with hardly any elevation change. Cyclists here have two worlds: the gravel-heavy Driftless region to the east (Good Earth Farm Gravel Ride covers 100km through rolling terrain) and the MadTown BikeJam, a 160km mass-participation event that draws serious riders across South Dakota and Minnesota borders. Road running is pancake-flat year-round, but winter windchill and summer humidity are the real obstacles.
