About this race
The Captain James R. Minicozzi Memorial Race, held annually during La Festa Italiana, benefits the Boys & Girls Clubs of Northeastern Pennsylvania Children’s Christmas Party and West Scranton High School college scholarships. The club is a "safe haven for keeping these children off of the streets," their "home away from home." Runners help provide hot meals, festivities, and an "item of warmth for their upper body" to over 200 children. Awards are given to top finishers, including an Armed Service Award. The first 100 registered receive a race t-shirt.
