About this race
On June 6, 1944, US Army Rangers scaled the 90-foot cliffs of Point du Hoc under heavy machine gun fire. At Omaha Beach, they faced intense resistance, urged forward by the famous line, "Rangers, lead the way!" Despite heavy casualties, they established a foothold, leading to the eventual liberation of Europe and victory over Hitler's Third Reich. The D-Day Dash honors that legacy, celebrating the enduring motto, "Rangers lead the way!" This out-and-back paved trail race at Ascarate Park is part of the Ranger Memorial Triad; finish all three races for a special T-shirt and medal. The schedule allows parents to run and then assist their children in the fun run.
