About this race

Oregon Trail Gravel begins in Bend, Oregon, offering a five-day gravel stage format centered on riding, camping, and communal camp life. The Pioneer race covers approximately 350 miles with about 30,000 feet of elevation gain. The Settler option is shorter, around 250 miles with roughly 15,000 feet of climbing. Pioneer is the competitive category, featuring podiums for Pro, Open, Masters, and Masters+ divisions. Settler, Iron Horse e-bike, and Tag Team entries are non-competitive adventure rides, accommodating both racers seeking results and participants desiring the full route without the pressure of competition. The course runs point-to-point through the Cascade Mountains, featuring varied gravel surfaces that shift throughout the week, providing different riding conditions and rhythms. The event includes four nights of camping, gear transport, well-stocked aid stations, and meals (breakfast, lunch, and dinner). Mechanical support is available both on the course and at the camp. Camp life is integral to the event's character, offering specialty morning coffee, evening activities, a fat tire gathering, and a whiskey bar post-ride. Tag teams can select Pioneer or Settler distances, with teammates alternating daily. Iron Horse riders may utilize battery exchange at aid stations but must bypass the optional Friday Downhill segment due to permit restrictions.
