About this race
The Buffalo Bicycle Classic begins and ends at the University of Colorado Boulder, serving as CU Boulder’s largest cycling fundraising event for scholarships. This September ride offers nine route options, accommodating diverse cyclists: families on the Little Buff, road riders seeking distance, gravel riders desiring dirt and mileage, and strong climbers tackling the Epic routes.
The notable feature is Boulder Canyon. For two hours on the morning of the ride, it closes to westbound vehicle traffic, providing Epic, Epic 75, and Gravel Epic riders with a unique car-free passage into the foothills. The event benefits the Todd T. Gleeson Buffalo Bicycle Classic Scholarship fund, with donations directly contributing to the endowment for Colorado students. Since its inception, the ride has generated over $4.3 million, funded approximately 450 scholarships, and assisted more than 400 high-merit students with financial needs in graduating from CU Boulder.
