Drive for 155 is an annual three-hour outdoor karting endurance race held at Kart Circuit Autobahn in Joliet, Illinois. The event takes place in the evening. Teams check in, meet with officials, and then compete for three continuous hours. Each team secures a kart with a $1,000 entry fee and must raise a minimum of $5,000 for DuPagePads. The overall event aims to collect $155,000 to support families and individuals facing homelessness.
Entry is limited to 15 teams, with each team requiring at least four drivers, though most bring five or six. Prior racing experience is not necessary, as teams are categorized into classes based on skill level. Karts are rotated among drivers to ensure equitable competition. The karts are capable of reaching 55 mph. Participants must be at least 16 years old and 56 inches tall. The race proceeds even in light rain. Fundraising is integrated into the competition; top fundraising teams earn superior grid placements and prime trackside spots, while those meeting the minimum fundraising target receive team-branded shirts, additional fan shirts, and a voucher for the Autobahn Cafe.
