About this race
GRiT - Snoqualmie Pass is an adventure gravel ride held at Snoqualmie Pass in Washington, within the North Cascade mountains. This is not a smooth-road gravel day; the event is close to mountain biking, featuring remote forest roads, trails, double track, hard climbs, and rough descents. Riders can select between 35-mile and 60-mile options. The setup makes bike choice a key consideration: a gravel bike might work, but a hard-tail mountain bike could also be suitable.
The route enters remote North Cascades forest terrain on a mix of gravel and trail surfaces, suiting riders who prefer dirt, climbing, handling challenges, and some unpredictability over a straightforward fast course. Past participants mention strong aid stations, solid support, and finish-line snacks, including watermelon. The event also emphasizes the social aspect, with dirt, sweat, hugs, and a community atmosphere integrated into the organizers' description of the day.
