About this race
The Kiwanis Independence 5K, a holiday tradition since 1983, starts and finishes at Hollymead Elementary. Hosted by the Kiwanis Club of Charlottesville, the race has raised over $150,000 for local charities like Salvation Army - Camp Rappahannock, Central Little League, and Charlottesville Community Bikes over the past 42 years. It's a community event that gives back.
