It is structured as a race-day event for various distances, not solely a single marathon, and supports the Wounded Warrior Project. The marathon is 26.2 miles, the half marathon is 13.1 miles, and the course starts with a one-mile loop inside the stadium before proceeding to historic areas of Dover. All participants finish in front of Miles the Monster, the 50-foot statue at the speedway, serving as the race's most distinct landmark.
