Red Rocks of Sedona is a one-day trail running series held annually in October in Sedona, Arizona. It features a Mountain Marathon, a 20-miler, a 10-miler, and a 2.5-miler. The longer three races begin in the morning, while the 2.5-miler starts later from Verde Valley School. Trail Running Escapes organizes the event, operating under a Coconino National Forest permit. The location is the south side of Sedona, within a forest system that spans almost 2 million acres.
The courses traverse specific Sedona southside trails and are designed to be difficult. Runners in the Mountain Marathon, 20-miler, and 10-miler utilize race-day shuttles from the finish area due to a lack of parking at those starting points; however, drop-offs are permitted. The event fosters a small community atmosphere with activities including a Thursday beer run, Friday bib pickup at The Hike House, a Friday shakeout run, and an opening ceremony at Yavapai Vista Trailhead. A Vendor Village is present at the finish line on race day. Accommodation should be arranged in advance, as Sedona is costly in October. Nearby Cottonwood, campgrounds, and free BLM van or RV spots offer practical lodging options.
