River Towns Ride 2026

The River Towns Ride is a one-day cycling event and festival connecting New Castle and Delaware City, two historic waterfront towns in Delaware situated approximately 10 miles apart. Participants cycle the Route 9 corridor between the towns. The River Towns Time Trial, featuring professional and amateur cyclists competing for cash and prizes, adds a competitive racing element. The Time Trial is included in the Mid-Atlantic Time Trial Series and functions as the Delaware Time Trial State Championship, attracting both skilled racers and local participants. Complementing the racing, both towns host festival activities. New Castle offers live music, hayrides, face painting, children's games, craft beer tastings, food, historical tours, exhibitions, and a British Car Show. Delaware City provides a riverside beer festival, corn hole, pony rides, inflatables, scarecrow making to benefit the Police Athletic League, open shops and restaurants on Main Street, and cycling awards presented at the Gazebo.
