The Rochester Women’s 4-Mile Race begins and ends at the Silver Lake East Shelter in Rochester, Minnesota, with the finish line on the east side of the lake. This is a women’s four-mile run and walk held in summer, open to all who identify as female; runners under 18 enter free. The event also features a free Girls’ 1-Mile Fun Run prior to the main race, with warm-ups provided by Amplify: A Lagree Fitness Studio.
The four-mile course is flat and fast, consisting of two loops around Silver Lake. Women walkers and runners of all ages participate, and the race is one of the few women-only events in the upper Midwest. Following the run, participants can enjoy refreshments, and awards are given to the top three overall finishers. Age-group awards are presented for categories from 12-and-under through 70-and-over, and a raffle includes prizes from Rochester-area businesses. The race also collects diapers and wipes for the Jeremiah Program; donors receive a bonus raffle ticket, with size 5 and 6 diapers and wipes particularly sought.
