Rylie’s Smile Turkey Escape 5k & 1m 2026

Rylie’s Smile Turkey Escape 5k & 1m starts and finishes at Thompson Island Brewing Company in Rehoboth Beach, Delaware, on Thanksgiving morning. The event offers a chip-timed 5k run/walk, a 1-mile non-competitive walk, and a free Kiddie K for children 9 and under, with the kids’ race going off shortly before the main 8:00 AM start. It is built around Rylie’s Smile Foundation, with all proceeds going to children who have severe lifelong or terminal diagnoses. The race morning has more of a community holiday feel than a plain road 5k: there is pre-race music, coffee and snacks before the start, a costume contest, awards, a 50/50 raffle, race souvenirs, shirts, and post-race refreshments. Adults 21 and older can get beer afterward at the brewery. Packet pickup is available at Thompson Island the day before, and the event keeps a few firm rules in place: no dogs, no bib transfers, and no registration refunds.
