Sorry 'Bout That Half Marathon and Team Relay 2027

SAT, January 16, 2027 · Polson , United States

Distances

Half Marathon

About this race

Sorry 'Bout That begins at the Mission Valley Aquatics Center in Polson, Montana, offering a half marathon with a team relay option for a small field. The race takes place on a Saturday morning in winter conditions; however, one reported edition featured sunshine and minimal snow on the course. Polson Running is the organizer, with Lou Brenner serving as the event's spokesperson. The field size can be modest, with one running attracting 65 participants aged 11 to 68, which Brenner noted was slightly below average. The course ascends Polson Hill via the bike path to North Reservoir Road, proceeds to Back Road, descends towards 7th Avenue, and then returns along the bike path, finishing uphill at the Aquatic Center. The race embraces its name: when participants inquired with volunteer Nicci Kamarainen near 7th Avenue about nearing the finish, she responded, “no, sorry ’bout that.” It accommodates both swift runners and unusual occurrences, such as a rollerblader who finished near the front but was disqualified from the winners' circle due to his equipment. Austin Allen provides consistency to the series, having finished every running no lower than fifth, securing one overall win, and often racing in costume with a cheerful demeanor.
