About this race
Summit Mountain Challenge offers Wednesday evening mountain bike racing with six summer races on Summit County trails in Colorado, from May through August. Participants can select long, short, or kids courses. The series combines fast trail sections with significant mountain climbs. Races are held between 5:00 PM and 9:00 PM, giving it the feel of a local after-work series.
The series concludes with the Breckenridge Classic. To be eligible for overall series standings, riders must compete in five of the six events using the same course option, ensuring consistent competition throughout the season. Breckenridge Recreation now manages the series, having taken over from Jeff “Westy” Wescott of Maverick Sports Promotions. The events focus on providing affordable, organized racing for the local cycling community.
