The Golden Horseshoe Race 2026

SAT, September 26, 2026 · Old Toronto , United States

About this race

The Golden Horseshoe Race covers 1,650 kilometers, beginning at Brockton Cyclery in Toronto and leading participants into Southern Ontario's remote areas. Theo Kelsey-Verdecchia designed the route to connect the region's more rugged and less-traveled paths, distinguishing it from straightforward road races or predictable gravel circuits. The route incorporates a variety of terrain: groomed singletrack, smooth pavement, quality gravel, overgrown ATV paths, riverbeds, creek crossings, and old roads largely unused today. Twenty riders began the inaugural event, with eight having withdrawn before Felix Laberge established the fastest known time for both overall and singlespeed categories, completing the race in 5 days, 7 hours, and 53 minutes.
