The Wichita State Engineering 5K is a 5K run/walk on Wichita State University's Innovation Campus in Wichita, Kansas, held during National Engineering Week. It begins in the morning and is open to WSU students, College of Engineering students, faculty, staff, alumni, and community runners, making it a campus-community race rather than a limited student event.
The course remains on the Innovation Campus and is USATF-certified, providing runners with a measured 5K. Finishers receive a shirt and medal, with awards presented to top men and women in categories including WSU students, faculty and staff, community members, and alumni. Following the race, an awards ceremony with refreshments is held. Proceeds benefit Wichita State's College of Engineering, offering need-based assistance to engineering students.
